Train the Trainer forklift certification teaches you how to train your operators for safe operation that meets the criteria prescribed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This course will provide your trainer with the information needed to train your Powered Industrial Truck operators, going beyond forklift operation to cover forklift safety. It will provide the knowledge required to develop and conduct an in-house Powered Industrial Truck training program, design exercises for staff evaluations, and instruct your team members about safety around forklifts. Train the Trainer Course Overview
Our Train the Trainer forklift course has all the educational resources your employees need to learn about forklift training. The goal is to teach trainers about common mistakes forklift operators make, how to identify safety hazards and how to evaluate operators to make sure forklift operation is safe.
In this course, your trainers will learn about the following topics:
- How to safely use a forklift
- Common forklift hazards
- Forklift operation
- How to deposit a load
- Navigation techniques
- How to use “Handle With Care” program (not included)
- Lift truck stability characteristics
- How to use the stability triangle as a training aid
- What is required by OSHA regulations
- How to develop a training program
- Lift truck identification by class
- Truck inspections and maintenance procedures
During evaluation, trainers will assess each student's ability to navigate the forklift and perform work-related duties.
Students who complete the course can conduct on-site evaluations for other employees to help them achieve certification for forklift operation. They can also make sure other employees are following appropriate safety measures when operating a forklift. We will provide a certification of completion your employees can provide to OSHA as proof of completion.
Certification is valid for three years, after which trainers must renew their licenses to ensure their training is up to date.
Our Train the Trainer course will be approximately six hours long. The cost is a flat rate per person. We also have a new Operator Training Kit with videos, certifications and an instructor manual.
